Meet Betty Jane

BSN, RN & End Of Life Nurse

I am Betty Jane Foglio, a dedicated professional in the field of healthcare holding a Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN) and a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree. My academic journey began at Fairleigh Dickinson University, located in Rutherford, New Jersey, where I had the opportunity to immerse myself in a rich learning environment that fostered my passion for nursing.

I have a background in Case Management in Home Care, Hospice Care Visiting Nursing spanning two decades. I also worked at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, part of the University of Pennsylvania, for 10 years, two in the Medical Management Department and 8 in the Inpatient Setting.  I am also a Per Diem employee at Pennsylvania Agency of Nurses in Newton Square, PA for almost 11 years now. During my tenure there, I have had the honor of serving many patients and families as the patient was passing away in such a precious way which I hope to describe in my Blog

In my specialized role as an end-of-life nurse, I have found my true calling. I am fervently committed to providing compassionate care to my patients during their final stages of life. This passion extends beyond the confines of traditional nursing, as I strive to create an environment filled with peace, hope, and love for each individual under my care.

My Approach To "At Home" Care

My approach to end-of-life care is holistic and patient-centric, focusing not only on alleviating physical discomfort but also addressing emotional and spiritual needs. I believe in the power of empathy and kindness, and I aim to make my patients as comfortable as possible, ensuring their final days are dignified and peaceful in their own home.

In addition, I extend my support to the loved ones of my patients keeping open communication with the hospice team and promoting collaboration during these challenging times. Understanding the emotional toll this stage can take, I provide a comforting presence, offering reassurance and guidance when it's needed most.

As a healthcare professional, I continuously seek opportunities to broaden my knowledge and enhance my skills. Staying abreast of the latest developments in palliative care allows me to deliver the highest standard of care to my patients and their families.

Beyond direct patient care, I contribute to a supportive and collaborative team environment. I firmly believe that effective teamwork and shared knowledge are essential to delivering comprehensive and exceptional end-of-life care.

My ultimate ambition is to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my patients and their families. As I continue to navigate the rewarding field of end-of-life care, I remain steadfast in my commitment to providing empathetic, respectful, and professional care to each individual I have the privilege of serving.
